Visitation Rules

Please read all of the rules completely prior to moving forward – Not knowing the rules will not be accepted as an excuse for not following them Disobeying any rule may result in you being banned from visiting detainees or criminal charges being pursued when applicable.


  • All visits are subject to monitoring and recording
  • All visits must be scheduled two business days for onsite and three days in advance for remote prior to the appointment or up to 2 weeks in advance.
  • Anyone 17 years of age or older must register as an adult prior to scheduling visits.
  • Visits will be a maximum of 30 minutes; visitors who check in late may only visit until the end of the scheduled visit time.
  • To schedule a remote visit you will need to have at least $15.00 in your ICSolutions prepaid account. If you need to add funds, please go to www.icsolutions.com or call 888-506-8407.
  • Visitors wishing to visit from a remote site are required to test their connection prior to scheduling a visit. Please go to http://icsvideovisit.com/cole/step-3-how-set-your-system-home-visit for instructions.
  • If visiting from the jail facility visitation center please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled visit to allow for check in time.
  • Remote visitors should login and connect a few minutes before the scheduled visitation time. 
  • Each inmate is allowed two (2) visits from the jail facility visitation area, and two (2) remote visits per week.  
  • Please be advised if an inmate is in ANY program (at court, attorney visits, Bible studies, Chemical Dependency etc.), they are NOT eligible to receive the visit at that time. Please schedule your visits around the inmate's program schedule. 
  • All visitors 16 years of age and older must possess a valid government issued photo ID.
  • A maximum of two children 17 years old and younger may visit with their parent or legal guardian.
  • Visitors and inmates must remain seated at all times during the visitation session.  Small children, three (3) years old and younger, must remain on the visitors lap at all times.
  • Appropriate dress is required at all times. 
    • Skin tight / Form fitting clothes are not allowed.
    • Any clothing or other items displaying gang-related symbols, themes or colors are prohibited.
    • Any clothing containing vulgar or objectionable language or images are prohibited.
    • All visitors must wear undergarments at all times.
    • No cleavage, abdomen, buttocks, or genitalia may be visible during any visit.
    • No see through clothing allowed.
    • No tank tops are allowed.
    • No skirts or dresses that are above the mid-thigh in length are allowed.
    • Shorts must be worn at mid thigh or below.
  • Any inappropriate activity will result in termination of your session.
  • Visitors involved in the following will be placed on permanent visiting restrictions:
    • Visitors that create a disturbance or disruption of the visiting process. 
    • Visitors under the influence of drugs or alcohol. 
    • Visitors that refuse to show sufficient identification.
    • Visitors that act in an inappropriate manner during their visitation. 
  • The visitation schedule may be cancelled or altered on county appointed holidays or for safety / security reasons.
  • Staff can deny, change, or cancel a visit at any time at their discretion.
  • Bringing firearms, explosives, tools for escape, alcoholic beverages, narcotics or any controlled substances including marijuana into this facility is a crime and cause for arrest.
  • Visitors are not allowed to carry cameras, tape recorders, bags, brief cases, cell phones, or any electronic device into the visitation area. 
  • Each visitation session will show a timer to display elapsed time.
  • After your visit has ended your connection will be terminated.
  • Visitors on Probation or Parole are not allowed to visit.
  • Visitors with an order of protection, or are the victim on the case the inmate is in custody for, may not visit.
  •  Visitors who miss two scheduled visits, or reschedule two visits on the same day the visit was scheduled, within any 30 day period shall be suspended from visiting for 30 days from the date of the last scheduled visit they missed.
  • Visitors who violate the jail visitation rules may be suspended from visiting for 2 weeks on the first violation, 30 days on the second violation, or permanently banned from visiting for repeated or serious violations of the jail rules.
  • Visitors who are denied a visit for any of the jail rules detailed above may appeal the decision within 10 days in writing to the Jail Administrator, Cole County Sheriff’s Department, PO Box 426, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102.
